A Message from your ASB Executive Secretary

Hellooo!! My name is Emily Sweeney and I am the Executive Secretary for the 2020-2021 school year. I am a Junior Elementary Education major. My hope is to one day be a teacher for either upper elementary or middle school. I love kids and seeing them grow and learn. I have grown up in Huntington Beach, CA my whole life and love it there. I am super grateful to currently be in the San Diego area. For those of you who like the enneagram, I am a one, hopefully, this helps you understand me a little better.

I am so stoked to be serving the student body this school year! Even though this year has been different, I and the rest of the directors have been working hard to make sure you still feel connected to the student body! One thing that we are doing to help you stay connected is this awesome website that you are on! My main focus this year is making sure students feel connected with the PLNU community whether you are living on-campus, in the San Diego area, or are elsewhere.

Other than the website my position takes minutes during all the Board of Directors meetings. I also get the privilege to stock the Keurig with some bomb coffee in the ASB Offices, 3rd floor Nicholson Commons. I am also the liaison between ASB and the Alumni office. I love getting to connect students with alumni. If you ever want to meet some rad alumni send me an email and I would be happy to connect you. I also get the privilege to work with an awesome group of student leaders. This group is the Student Alumni Ambassadors, SAA. They get to help plan Homecoming and other fun events for students to get involved with alumni. Oh yea, HOMECOMING!!! Homecoming is an awesome part of Loma which I get to help plan. I cannot wait until we can experience it all together.

Thanks for being awesome!!! I cannot wait to see you and meet you one day, my office is always open!

Emily Sweeney
