Academic clubs and societies tend to have a basis and rooting with one of the departments at Point Loma.These clubs allow for students to have a deeper engagement with what they are learning in a fun and new way that they may not get to experience in the classroom. Additionally, students can further their career exploration through different avenues within their clubs.

Delta Alpha Pi is a club and honor society on campus to spread positive awareness on the negative stigma of “disability” and “mental health”. We serve as advocates of this community, and create a safe space for students of all abilities on campus. To become a part of the honor society students must be enrolled in the EAC (Educational Access Center) have over a 3.01 GPA and attend frequent meetings.

The Point Loma Pre-Health Student Association is committed to supported pre-health students at PLNU, including those interested in medicine (MD or DO), pharmacy, dentistry, optometry, public health, or veterinary medicine. We provide opportunities for students to explore the health field, network with healthcare professionals, and get hands-on volunteering experience through our local and international outreach events. Our mentorship programs connect students with experienced upperclassmen and alumni so they have personal guidance throughout their undergraduate journey. SDA is a great club for those who are interested in learning about healthy eating habits and how the food industry plays a role in our diets. During the remote learning experience, we plan to watch documentaries about food and diet and engage in discussions to better educate ourselves on the truths and lies shown out there. As part of our goal, the club often offers opportunities to network with other dietitians and nutritionists.
